Better Than Halo Top?!

So, I have a few beefs with my beloved Halo Top Ice-Cream.

1. The price! For such few calories, one can't help but to eat the whole pint and it's 5$-6$ a pint!

2. The add ins are skimpy. I would prefer less ice-cream with more add ins or the same amount of ice-cream with more calories.

3. The vegan flavors are not as good as the original in any way. None of them taste like the flavor decribed. They are all more icey than creamy. Also, they are low in protein.

I'm very proud of my creations...

Let's start with my favorite Halo Top flavor, Cake Batter. This is more like half a pint, but with 40 grams of protein, you won't miss the other half.

Plus, my recipe requires no ice-cream maker, no ice cube trays, no blender, and roughly 40 minutes.

Ingredients:

4 flat scoops of Think Thin* Vanilla Bean Protein Powder

1/2 cup of vanilla cashew milk*

1/4 cup of Ripple vanilla half & half*

1 teaspoon (or more) of sprinkles

1/8 teaspoon of baking powder*

Instructions:

Mix all dry ingredients sans sprinkles. Add wet slowly. Top with sprinkles. Freeze for 30 minutes. That's it!

Recipe Notes:

*If you have a preferred brand, go for it. Make sure it measures to about 2/3 cup.

*Can use other dairy-free milks and half & half. If using regular,  may want added sweetener.

*Do not eliminate baking powder. This is for taste.

Flavor #2:

Brownie Batter

Again, this creates about half a pint. This flavor has 30 grams of protein and is super rich and full of antioxidants.

Ingredients:

3 rounded scoops of Orgain* Chocolate Fudge Protein Powder

1 tablespoon of dark chocolate* cocoa powder

1 rounded teaspoon of instant coffee

1/2 cup of vanilla cashew milk

1/2 cup of vanilla Ripple half & half

Handful of Lily's or Enjoy Life dark chocolate chips

Instructions:

Same as Cake Batter

Recipe Notes:

*Again, can use other brands. 1 rounded scoop of Orgain gives you a smidge above 3 tablespoons.

*I used Hershey's. Can use regular, but it will not be as rich.

Last but not least...

Peanut Butter Cup

This has more peanut butter than Halo Top and the chocolate is more legit. Plus, with 38 grams of protein, it left me super full.

Ingredients:

3 rounded scoops of Orgain Peanut Butter protein powder

3 tablespoons of peanut powder*

1/2 cup of vanilla cashew milk

1/4 cup of vanilla Ripple half & half

Handful of Lily's or Enjoy Life dark or semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

Same as Cake Batter.

Recipe Notes:

*I used Jiff peanut powder. Can use powdered peanut butter. Peanut powder is less sweet than powdered peanut butter and has 1 extra gram of protein.
